Conventional pest control often relies on systematic spraying and "just in case" preventive treatments. This approach, still widespread in our profession, is outdated: ineffective in the long term, polluting and a threat to the fragile Mediterranean biodiversity we are responsible for preserving in Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes.
At Monaco Pest Solutions we made a clear choice: minimise the use of biocides and use only the best on the market when their use is strictly necessary. These are our commitments.
1. Minimise the use of biocides
Before any chemical application we systematically deploy prevention, early detection, mechanical barriers and non-chemical traps. Biocides are used only as a last resort, on the strictly relevant area, at the minimum effective dose and for the shortest possible time. The best intervention is the one that needs no product.
2. Use only the best available products
When a biocide treatment becomes necessary, we select products against three strict criteria: proven scientific efficacy on the target species, a current authorisation, and the most favourable environmental profile in the category. We favour molecules that degrade rapidly, do not bioaccumulate and are compatible with non-target biodiversity. We systematically rule out products with a documented problematic environmental impact, even if they remain legal.
3. Flawless internal traceability
Every product entering our stock is logged: authorisation number, batch, expiry date, supplier. Every intervention is documented: nature, area, technician, product applied, quantity, time. This internal traceability — available at any time to our clients on request — lets us respond instantly to an audit, a complaint or any regulatory question.
4. No systematic preventive treatment
We do not spray "as a preventive measure" as some players in the market do. A systematic biocide treatment with no confirmed pest is useless, polluting, and encourages species resistance to active molecules. Our method: monitor first, then treat only if necessary and in a targeted way.
5. Secure, eco-responsible bait stations
We use exclusively lockable bait stations made of recycled PVC, fixed to the floor or wall with a stainless-steel cable. This setup prevents any dispersion of baits into the environment and any access by non-target animals: dogs, cats, birds, local wildlife.
6. Preserving local biodiversity
The Mediterranean hosts precious biodiversity: bees, hoverflies, ladybirds, geckos, hedgehogs, bats. Our protocols rigorously distinguish pest species from beneficial ones. We refuse non-selective mass-destruction treatments that threaten this balance.
7. Ongoing training and Certibiocide certification
All our technicians hold the Certibiocide certification, mandatory and renewed every 5 years. We continuously monitor French and Monegasque regulatory developments and scientific research on integrated pest management.
Our commitment is not a slogan. The technical data sheet of every product we apply at your premises is available, on simple request, from your client area.
