## Why fast rodent control is critical
Beyond the discomfort, rodents represent a major health risk (leptospirosis, salmonellosis, hantavirus), an obvious food risk for HACCP establishments (palace kitchens, starred restaurants, dark kitchens), and an underestimated material risk: a single rat can sever an electrical cable in under a minute, triggering a fire or costly failure — particularly critical on yachts where ducts are confined.
## Our rodent-control protocol
Our protocols rest on three complementary pillars:
**1. Full preliminary audit.** Before placing any bait station, we conduct a site audit: identifying species present (through tracks, droppings, activity indicators), mapping entry points, assessing attractant sources (waste, food storage), examining aggravating factors (ducts, crawl spaces, planted terraces). This diagnosis drives everything that follows.
**2. Secured bait stations.** Our stations are made of recycled PVC, key-locked, anchored by stainless cable, and numbered for monitoring. No bait is ever accessible to children, pets or non-target wildlife (geckos, hedgehogs, birds). Every station is mapped on our digital platform.
**3. Graded treatment.** We rely first on targeted, regulatory-compliant biocides placed in secured bait stations inaccessible to non-target wildlife. When the situation allows it and there is no risk of rapid spread, we complement with mechanical devices (interceptor traps, physical exclusion). This gradation respects two principles: effectiveness for you, and respect for animal welfare — poorly calibrated mechanical methods prolong the animal's suffering, which is not our standard. When biocides become necessary, we select short-half-life molecules, remove carcasses to prevent secondary consumption by useful fauna, and maintain a register exportable on demand to health authorities.
