Seasonal pressures and sentinel species in Beuil

The common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) and the hornet (Vespa crabro) build nests under canopies and roof frames, with maximum pressure on summer terraces from June to September. The wood mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) and the black rat (Rattus rattus) exploit terrace walls, cellars and farmstead stores, especially in autumn. Bats, protected species, roost in certain lofts in summer: their presence requires an intervention respectful of wildlife regulations, through gentle exclusion outside sensitive breeding periods.
