Sospel is a mountain village of narrow lanes, where old farmhouses and stone dwellings rise in tiers along cultivated dry-stone terraces. Finally, solitary wasps nest in the terrace walls, stone joints and terrace beams, with marked activity from late spring to summer, favoured by the sunlit façades.
